Another COLD Night & Tuesday Thoughts!

I need to toot my own horn to start!

First, if you'll look at my Super Bowl Sunday post right under this, you'll see I was looking at 25 for a high for today (Monday). Imagine my surprise this morning (as it was anywhere from 9-13 degrees in my area) when I saw the good folks @ the NWS and others were talking 30-31 range today. My belief was the cold Canadian air wasn't going to give way to anything 'warm' like the 30's. OK, OK, enough tooting my own horn.

The folks at the NWS are much smarter than me, but it is nice to hit the high every once in a while. That being said, let's look at tonight and Tuesday here in the Upper Cumberland. We're all in agreement for teens as lows...some getting closer to the 10-12 mark. Tuesday is shaping up to be an interesting day...IF the rain arrives early, possible mix for many of us...if, however, it does not...temperatures should rise enough for all rain...then, Tuesday evening the reverse is possible...temperatures could fall to a point where we see frozen precip again, let's call it a 50/50 shot for snow (especially in our area)....

Some are seeing snow tonight on the radar over Southern KY...however, I don't see any precip for us this evening as dew points are just too dry (2.8 @ 7:45 pm CST)....

  • Next chance for precipitation is for Wednesday night into Thursday.....we're stuck in this cold pattern!

  • Oh, and kids are out for a 4th day in a row due to weather here in the Upper Cumberland....not enough warmth to melt the ice/snow on the tree-lined roads.

Monday Night........14.............partly to mostly cloudy
Tuesday..................39.............pc then clouds then rain
Tuesday Night.......29.............rain then snow
