After a beautiful weekend of snowfall here in the Upper Cumberland, our workweek will promise us warm weather and rainfall. Our friends over at the National Weather Service had a great statistic that showed if February ended today (Sunday), it would have been the 4th COLDEST on record! We've been way below normal...over 10 degrees below normal.
This all changes this upcoming week as we'll see temperatures run almost 10 degrees above normal. Obviously, all of our snow will melt. Winds will become southerly and strong...almost 30 mph in some locations.
We will have a cold night tonight (Sunday). Temperatures are already down in the lower 20's across the Cumberland Plateau....this is due mostly to the snow cover. It will cause wet streets to become slippery again. Some schools will be closed (most are already closed for President's Day)....
Monday's high ....near 50
Tuesday's high....low 50's
Quite nice!
Remember, it's Severe Weather Awareness Week!
