Currently, it's in the 90's at 5:35 in the afternoon and I am fired up about something I saw today!
Football practice at Tennessee Tech University (TTU) under new head coach Watson Brown. Brown resigned as head coach at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) to accept the position with TTU. This brings the Cookeville native Brown back home and as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz put it "There's no place like home!"
Since Brown's return to TTU, a major stadium refurbishment program has been underway. The facility looks incredible. New turf, a new track, new paint, new locker room and a new attitude in football athletics at the university. I commend Athletics Director Mark Wilson for his leadership.
I witnessed a bunch of fired up young football players at their first fall practice. The team has a new system to learn and they were all eager to get out on the field. You can visit the TTU Sports website to get updated on all the happenings. It's going to be the start of many fun years with TTU football.

T-T-U! T-T-U! T-T-U! Ah, the sounds of autumn are beginning to rise. I hope the return of the Golden Child of Cookeville will fill the benches in Tucker Stadium. It is inspiring. Go Tech, beat Murray! (or EIU, or TSU, or SEMO, or EKU, or UT-Martin, or...)
Or Auburn!
PolarBear...It is interesting that we have EIU for the first game of the season. They are picked first, we are picked 6th, they have NO FILM on us and don't have a clue what we are going to do. Could be interesting...I think you'll see this team get a little better each week. 6-5 would be a wonderful year!
Daniel...going to Auburn should be lots of FUN! :)
