Busy Next Two Days

The are a whole host of products issued for us today and tomorrow by the National Weather Service's office in Nashville. You can click on this one link to see them all including a:

  • Flood Watch

  • Short Term Forecast

  • Hazardous Weather Outlook

  • Special Weather Statement
We've had rumbles of thunder this morning here in Cookeville. The rain started just before 6 a.m. and we've already received 1/3 of an inch. More is on the way. Indications are from 2-4 inches of rain before these multiple systems move eastward. I think the heaviest of the rainfall will move out by 10 a.m. The secondary system (containing possible severe weather) will invade our area on Friday.

We will continue to watch all of this closely and bring you updates as needed.

I've heard alot about the 1974 Super Super Outbreak! Will the main threat here still be flooding, damaging winds, and hail w/ an very isolated tornado? Thanks! Has Putnum County ever flooded before? I know Macon County has, but it must of been over 100 years ago!
