Friday could eclipse some record cold here in Tennessee.
Here in Cookeville, I pulled records dating back to 1896.
Low Temperature Records:
Wednesday's Record: 5° (1963)
Thursday's Record: 5° (1979)
Friday's Record -3° (1972)
Lowest High Temperature:
Friday's Record 14° (not sure of the year)
Considering lows around ZERO are going to be in the forecast, some will set records. I think we'll get close to it as well. The other interesting number is the coldest high temperature for the 16th of January is 14°...we may be within striking distance of that number.

what do you think of our chances to see snow tonight?
Hi Ed:
I think are chances are minimal tonight. Flurries for a bit and then VERY, VERY cold...thanks for your question.
