Chilly Day Ahead

*Monday Morning Notes*
Mostly light rain will continue today as clouds stick around. Rain again on Tuesday with a blustery day and finally, on Wednesday, we'll see sunshine. Temperatures are expected in the upper 50's today, lower 60's on Tuesday and middle 60's by Wednesday. Dress appropriately for the weather. A sneak peak for the weekend says the skies will be sunny and temperatures warm (upper 70's!).

Wind gust of 62 mph is recorded at Nashville.

On April 20, 1996...
An early morning severe weather outbreak produces extensive wind damage (in excess of $6 million) across Middle Tennessee, including 2 tornadoes, and isolated flash flooding. Lightning destroys 2 huge 161 kilovolt transformers in Tullahoma, at a cost of around a half million dollars.


*Rain Update*
Since yesterday, we've added another 1.20" to our rain total.  For April, we stand at 6.31"..during a typical April we receive 4.58"...we still have 10 days left in the month.  For 2009, we're at 21.17", while the normal amount from January through the end of April is 20.02"...nice to be ahead!
