220 PM CDT SAT AUG 1 2009
.NOW...
BETWEEN NOW AND 400 PM...YOU CAN EXPECT AN AREA OF NUMEROUS
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS TO CROSS THE TENNESSEE RIVER...BETWEEN
CAMDEN AND SAVANNAH...AND SPREAD ACROSS MUCH OF WESTERN MIDDLE
TENNESSEE. THE THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTAIN HEAVY DOWNPOURS...WHICH
WILL LIKELY CAUSE PONDING OF WATER IN LOW LYING AREAS...ESPECIALLY
IN LOCATIONS THAT RECEIVED HEAVY RAINFALL EARLIER THIS WEEK. MUCH
OF WESTERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE RECEIVED OVER 2 INCHES OF RAIN BETWEEN
WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY...AND ANY ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINS WILL CAUSE
RAPID RUN OFF...AND PONDING OF WATER. MOTORISTS SHOULD KEEP THIS
IN MIND WHEN DRIVING THROUGH HEAVY DOWNPOURS THIS AFTERNOON. IN
ADDITION...SOME OF THE STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS WILL ALSO BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING GUSTY WINDS TO 40 MPH.
ELSEWHERE...ACROSS THE MID STATE...THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS
EXPECTED TO REMAIN ISOLATED THROUGH 400 PM.
