THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NASHVILLE HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE
FRIDAY NIGHT.
* TIMING: A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE SOUTH OF MIDDLE
TENNESSEE LATE THIS WEEK, AND WILL SPREAD WINTRY PRECIPITATION
ACROSS THE MID STATE BEGINNING LATE THURSDAY NIGHT. THE WINTRY
PRECIPITATION WILL CONTINUE FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT, WITH LIGHT
SNOW LASTING INTO SATURDAY.
* MAIN IMPACT: ON FRIDAY, LOOK FOR SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF
SNOW ACROSS NORTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE, AND RAIN, SNOW, AND ICE
ACROSS SOUTHERN MIDDLE TENNESSEE. FRIDAY NIGHT, PRECIPITATION
WILL SWITCH TO ALL SNOW.
* OTHER IMPACTS: ROADS AND BRIDGES WILL BECOME SLIPPERY AND
DANGEROUS FOR DRIVING. GUSTY WINDS MAY CAUSE DRIFTING SNOW, AND
WIND CHILLS FRIDAY NIGHT WILL DROP INTO THE TEENS AND SINGLE
DIGITS.
