If you remember last Friday, we were up in the 90's and the heat index was pushing 100°. Today, however, just a short week later, we'll struggle to get into the upper 60's with scattered light showers this morning and mostly cloudy conditions this afternoon. Winds will be from the northwest at around 5 to 15 mph.
Last evening's strong to severe weather stayed to our west and the heaviest rains moved north of the Cookeville area. Expectations were for around one inch of total precip and we have recorded just 2/10ths of an inch.
Tonight will be very cool with the lows dropping to the mid and upper 40's by Saturday morning. This is some of the coolest weather in nearly a month. By the way, the coolest June 1 ever was 42 degrees back in 1966.
Saturday's forecast will be partly sunny with highs in the mid 70's and Sunday will be sunny again with highs in the upper 70's. Enjoy this late spring cool down! The rest of the 7-day forecast is located at the link below.
By the way, we'll have the complete breakdown of what happened in May. Look for it this weekend!
