Saturday Evening Update

Fairly quiet over most of the middle TN region. There is a batch of rain and thunderstorms southeast of the Cookeville area along with a pop-up shower and thunderstorm dotting the landscape from just east of Nashville down through Warren County. These cells are moving east southeast and will affect a few people.

Overnight expect a cloudy night with fog developing after midnight and a 20% chance of a shower and thunderstorm. We'll only fall about 4 more degrees to around 63° by daybreak.

On Sunday, expect a partly cloudy day with a 30% chance of an afternoon thunderstorm.

We reached 81° today as the storms didn't materialize and we did get glimpses of the sun in the afternoon. A warming trend is developing and you can expect highs to reach the lower 80's Sunday, mid 80's on Monday and upper 80's by Tuesday. We'll moderate back to the mid 80's on Wednesday, near 80 on Thursday and upper 70's by Friday. Early indications for Memorial Day weekend show comfortable temps with highs in the 70's.
